Choosing to Live

Hope and Beauty

I am still in awe that I was featured in this Phenomenal and Fabulous magazine Woman to Woman NWI.  I’m so very grateful for this feature.  Thanks again to Woman to Woman NWI Magazine and Storied Elements Photography for this Beautiful opportunity.

To SHINE some Light on National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month for September, I’m sharing some short lines from the magazine article that I was featured in Woman to Woman NWI and some photos clips from the article.

Being a Suicide Survivor and Advocate for Suicide Prevention My Hope is that everyone who reads my story have Hope, feel Lighter, Brighter and Be Inspired.

Beginning of article: As a child, Charmaine Moore recalls living almost two separate lives. There was the little girl who invited all the neighborhood children to play and wanted to be sure everyone was all right. Then the other little girl who was being sexually, physically and verbally abused by a family friend, the teenage son of another family friend, and a family member.

Middle of Article: In 2014, she set out to learn to love herself. By the following year, she determined she had taken herself as far as she could, and sought the support of professionals. That same year, she wanted to share some of her experiences and perspectives with other women and opted to start a Youtube channel. And on January 25, 2016 she officially launched her business. Her husband’s words rang through her heart and mind and once again she says she felt she received a divine message.

“God said, ‘You are not only the face of hope, but the face of hope and beauty.’ Those words helped me in my darkest moment. I wanted to help others realize they bring hope and beauty into this world, too. And that’s how ‘Face of Hope and Beauty’ came to be,” Moore details.

Ending of Article: “Part of the war I had with myself was that I was accepting parts of my life, but not all. Accepting all of it has liberated and empowered me,” she says. “What happened to me at 7-years-old, 12-years-old and even into my adulthood, it’s all part of my journey. I accept all the good, the bad and the crazy. Now I’m not going to be quiet. I’m not going to dim my light. I’m going to shine bright and be my authentic self. I’m going to grow through anything and see the beauty and blessings. ”
